Illinois Foundation for FCCLA
Susan P. Burge Scholarship

 The Susan P. Burge Scholarship was established in honor of Mrs. Susan Burge who served as the Illinois FHA-HERO/FCCLA State Adviser for many years.  Mrs. Burge still  serves as a member of the Illinois Foundation for FCCLA Board of Directors.                   
Financially reward individuals (that plan to further study in an area related to Family and Consumer Sciences) who have benefited from FCCLA programs and have made contributions to FCCLA organization.

Family and Consumer Sciences include the following areas of study:
Apparel (Clothing), Merchandising, Textile Design and Manufacturing
Child Care and Child Development
Consumer and Resource Management
Family Studies
Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Education
Food Science, Dietetics, Nutrition, Food Production and Hospitality Management
Housing and Interior Design
Catherine A. Carter Leadership Award

The Catherine A. Carter Leadership Award was established in honor of Miss Catherine Carter who served as the Illinois FHA State Adviser for many years. 
                Perpetuate the profession by financially assisting a future family and consumer sciences teacher
                Encourage future involvement as an FCCLA adviser.
FCS Education Majors are eligible to apply either the semester before or during their semester of student teaching.
